I think most problems in the world stem from the fact of people not being grateful for what they have or where they have come from. The dictionary describes the word grateful as “being appreciative of kindness or benefits received”. Being grateful is not settling, it is celebrating what you have and it is saying thanks despite of all the odds because it could be worst or you could have nothing; you can be grateful and still work towards better. People tend to look at their friend, neighbor or a stranger and start to “covet” what they have whether that is a relationship, car, house, jewelry or clothes. I wouldn’t say I am a Christian but I know a few things and its interesting that the bible speaks about this same thing, just saying. Either way we tend to look at situations without knowing the variables like how they got it and what they are doing to keep it but all we know is we want it too. So many people have robbed cheated, lied, blackmailed and stole to keep up with the Joneses and to keep relationships while the same people that we want to emulate are barely getting by or are tormented by their choices to obtain these things. Love Life!!

All I’m saying is learn to be thankful and love what you have first because how can you learn to love or appreciate what you wish to have if you don’t do the same with what you have that is in front of you right now. You see to me life is about levels and most things prepare us for what we want or wish for. Each level requires a different understanding and that comes via a test. Just like how we take a test to earn a certificate, associate degree, degree or masters so why do you think the same principal wouldn’t apply to life ? Life in it self is a test and a chest game for me so how you score for the most part will be known at some point and how you move will be reflected. I would like to believe that all of us are trying to become a better version of ourselves (progress) but one of the steps in that journey is learning to be thankful. As Jcole said this is the reality, there will always be something you “think” is “better than what you have” but even so you never going be happy until you learn to love yours.
